Overview
Stellagent today announced the launch of an implementation support service for the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), co-developed by OpenAI and Stripe, effective October 1, 2025. Through this service, EC businesses can implement a shopping experience within ChatGPT -- from product discovery to purchase completion -- in as little as eight weeks.
Background
On September 29, 2025, OpenAI announced the Instant Checkout feature for ChatGPT. This enables users to discover products and complete purchases within their ChatGPT conversations, reaching a platform with over 700 million weekly users. In the United States, integrations with Etsy and Shopify are already underway, and purchasing experiences on AI platforms are expanding rapidly.
In the Japanese market, while ChatGPT shopping features were partially introduced in April 2025, full-scale ACP-compliant commerce experiences have not yet been realized. Barriers to entry include OpenAI application procedures, ACP-compliant API development, integration with existing EC systems, and payment security requirements.
