LLMO and GEO (AI Search Optimization)

Getting found, understood, and recommended by generative AI: LLMO, GEO, and AI search optimization.

LLMO means preparing your information so that when a generative AI assembles an answer, your products and your company appear among the candidates. A search results page lists ten links; an AI answer usually narrows to about three. Miss that shortlist and you are functionally invisible.

AI does not search using the question it was given. It rewrites the question into several queries and runs them in parallel, which is why optimizing for a single keyword no longer works — every angle in the breakdown needs an answer. The work sorts into four layers: reach, comprehension, selection and measurement. Investing in an upper layer while a lower one is unmet produces nothing.

This page collects the implementation articles for those four layers, alongside our own measurements from retail and e-commerce. To start from the full picture, begin with our overview of LLMO.
